The optimization of welding hardfacing on wear resistance of FC-25 grey cast iron steel substrate by response surface methodology (RSM)

This paper aimed to identify the optimal conditions for welding hardfacing by applying Response Surface Methodology (RSM). The heat input, electrode type, and layer on wear resistance of were all optimized using Box-Behnken experimental design. findings revealed that these three variables had an impact volume loss hardfacing. Because high coefficient determination, data obtained a quadratic equation (96.90%). ideal condition was determined 3D response surface plot contour map produced from mathematical models. following conditions: With input 1.58 J, filler metal type DFA2-600-B, third hardfacing, lower weld 1.29 mm3.
